21st CENTURY LEARNING - LEARNING GOALS AND SUCCESS CRITERIA LINKS:
Literacy in the 21st Century is the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable achievement,
personal well-being and full participation in an interconnected and changing world community.
Learning Goals allow students to see where they are going in their learning.
Success Criteria allow students to understand how they are going to get there.
- Students need to know what a successful product should look or sound like.
- So, why don’t we just show students an exemplar?
- We can’t teach students about the future because we don’t know what it will look like.
- Students need to develop a skill set that will make them adaptable to future challenges.
- When students come up with Success Criteria they create a recipe for success!
CO-COACHING
The AHS Staff began a co-coaching initiative in 2009 to address the need of providing
our staff with professional development opportunities that are cutting-edge and relevant
to their teaching practice. We meet twice a semester in a “lunch and learn” format.
Areas of Focus:
2009/2010 – Learning Goals – 20 participants
2010/2011 – Success Criteria – 12 participants
